'IR35 Toolkit' seminars will tour the UK
by The Editor at 13:35 01/02/02 (News on IR35)
PCG has announced a UK road show for its 'IR35 Toolkit' seminars in response to a high volume of requests for a repeat of the seminars recently held in London.
Feedback from the London seminars was very positive as attendees took home a wide range of expert advice from the speakers. You can read a report of these seminars here.

As many contractors prepare to return their P35 forms, the seminars and the advice they offer form an essential part of planning for the year ahead. Agents, clients and accountants will also benefit from the presentations by top experts in the field including:

Kevin Miller, PCG Finance Director, a chartered accountant who has been working on IR35 since the March 1999 Budget. Kevin will give practical guidance on completing the P35 form.

Ben Chaplin, Qdos tax consultant, a specialist in the areas of IR35 and Tax Liability insurance. Ben will advise on dealing with Inland Revenue PAYE enquiries, which often lead to IR35 investigations.

Dave Smith, Accountax Consulting, a former Revenue inspector with extensive experience of General Commissioners' appeals. Dave will provide advice on dealing with the Revenue and coping with appeals to the Commissioners.

Anne Redston, Partner at Ernst & Young. Anne will advise on how the Revenue use the Employment Status Manual to judge status and how this affects your business.

Jane Akshar, PCG Chairman, who has been in IT for 20 years, the last five of those as a contractor. Jane will speak about the continuing IR35 legal challenge and the future for the PCG.

Make sure your business benefits from this expertise and support.

Tickets for the seminar are £85 including VAT for PCG Members and Associates, and £135 for non-members. Each venue will host two sessions, starting 2pm and 7pm. The first is aimed at a mixed audience of accountants, agents and contractors. The evening session is aimed primarily at contractors.

All seminars include a question and answer session where delegates can ask the panel questions relating to their businesses and IR35.

As before, experts in various IR35-related fields will also be available for discussion prior to each seminar. A complete delegate's pack will also be provided.

The volume of requests received implies that places will sell out quickly, so early booking is advised to ensure you are guaranteed a place.
