higher business expenses claim?
by michaels at 09:09 22/10/03 (Umbrella & Composites)
some umbrella companies claim that they have negotiated special, "generous" expense dispensations with the inland revenue. as a result one would be able to claim more business expenses with them - according to what these companies say.

now i am wondering whether this is true. if yes, in which areas does this apply then? are there any grey areas that can be negotiated beforehand with the inland revenue?

according to my knowledge and understanding - please correct me if necessary - anything counts as business expenses that is fully caused by doing the business. e.g. travelling costs, accomodation, parts of a rented or owned property that are being fully used for the business such as office/ workplace, or meals with clients etc. as far as i know even the costs for the preparation of a business can be claimed as expenses.

any advice?
