Newsflash - Calling All Contractors
Mass Lobby of Parliament

The Government have announced that it will re-introduce Clauses 71 and 72 (IR 35) into the Welfare Reform and Pensions Bill on Wednesday 3rd November 1999.

Now is the time for you to take positive action. As many Contractors as possible should go to the House of Commons on Wednesday afternoon to both Lobby your MP and attend a meeting.

We are finalising arrangements for a Senior opposition spokesman to address this meeting at the House of Commons at around 1430 on that day.

We are telling you this now so that you can make the necessary arrangements. The action you should take is as follows:

1) If possible arrange to go to London on Wednesday 3rd November

2) For those who can go; you should write to your Member of Parliament. You should tell him/her that you are coming to a meeting concerning IR 35 in the House of Commons on that day and that you will put a "Green Card" in and you hope they will be able to meet with you.

You need send this letter so it arrives by Monday.
The address is: Your Member of Parliament (put MP after their name)

House of Commons

London

SW1A 0AA

As soon as the detail of the speaker and the meeting room is concerned we will send a further briefing which will include full details of the action to be taken on the day.

Kind regards

David Ramsden, Campaign Director

Professional Contractors Group
