DTI gets small business database
by The Editor at 08:21 20/06/05 (Press)
The Department of Trade and Industry has taken delivery of a comprehensive database of small British high technology companies which it hopes will enable its technology experts to engage much more closely with the sector.
According to publictechnology.net, the initial database contains detailed profiles on 3,500 high potential small firms, with data supplied by Gibson Index, a research house based in central London.

The company has developed a large databank of SME information from which bespoke databases will be researched and created.

Other state-funded agencies - including RDAs, a group of Universities and the MoD’s specialist SME liaison agency, the Defence Diversification Agency (DDA) - are now examining the contents of the database with a view to building better relationships with SMEs.
