Plans for simpler tax for small firms?
by The Editor at 09:37 28/11/06 (Press)
The government aims to simplify how small businesses manage their tax affairs under a four-year plan according to Reuters news agency.
HM Revenue and Customs is expected to outline measures including cutting paperwork, improving registration and self-assessment forms, a redesigned web site and the creation of a single customer record, government officials told Reuters.

The announcement will come as the Confederation of British Industry holds its annual two-day conference in London. Chancellor Gordon Brown will address the conference today (Tuesday, Nov 28) in the run-up to his Pre-Budget Report on December 6.
