Something else that damages our Economy
by brianc at 18:07 15/09/13 (Letters from Freelancers)
Something else that damages our Economy is the quality of our Internet access.
Members will no doubt be interested in this email I sent today to my local authority:

"As is now apparent there has been a severe deterioration in the quality of Internet service recently in our area no doubt due to perfectly understandable operational reasons.

The council needs to be aware that this will directly impact both Small and Large Businesses in Surrey Heath unless something is done about this.

I am aware the BT Dial-up service has been terminated nationally and that the emphasis is on delivering 4G in the future, but surely not at the loss of an adequate service level in the meantime.

Could I ask that this be raised as a matter of urgency with ISPs who operate here as it is bound to have unexpected consequences on important local services that rely on a good level of Internet access"

What is your experience with the quality of your local Internet access - is it Very Poor, Poor, Adequate, Good, or Excellent etc.
