Expansion planned for service providers' group, FCSA
by Susie Hughes at 11:13 12/03/14 (News on Business)
The Freelancer and Contractor Services Association (FCSA) is planning to extend its membership to include the self-employed and construction workforce.
The FSCA, an industry association which sets standards for companies providing services to the professional freelance workforce, is planning a period of strategic growth and development in 2014. The current Chairman, Stuart Davis, has announced that he will be retiring from the role of part-time Chairman and a fulltime CEO will be appointed.

Mr Davis said: “The growing strength and breadth of the flexible workforce in the UK, which continues to help drive the economic recovery, is a testament to the creativity and dynamism of all those which work within it. This growth also signifies an even greater need for the FCSA to maintain exemplary high standards and to expand our membership to include the self-employed and CIS workforce. Doing so will help to ensure the industry as a whole adheres to a rigorous operating standard.

“To create an appropriate operating structure to support the pipeline of potential new members and our planned activities, the FCSA has decided to appoint a full time CEO to lead the organisation and build on the platform we have created.

“With this in mind, I intend to retire from my part time role as Chairman of the FCSA on April11, 2014 with a well organised structure and succession plan in place which will ensure the continuation of the high levels of compliance standards and credibility we have become recognised for."

The Freelancer and Contractor Services Association was established in 2008 in response to a stream of proposed regulation which its members felt revealed a lack of understanding from Government as to how the flexible labour market operates. Its members include: planIT Services Limited; JSA Group; Giant; Brookson; and Parasol.
