Entrepreneur's Relief and closing down company
by Shadow at 11:38 13/05/14 (Ask-Legal-Accounting)
Claiming Entrepreneur's Relief when closing down a company
I am looking at closing down my company as I have decided to leave IT. My company has been operating since 2002 and my last contracted ended in August 2013. I have approximately £9000 left in the company.

I have asked my accountant if I can take this out as Entrepreneur's Relief. At first he told me that ER only applied to physical assets such as property, but now he has said that and I can only get the above relief if I have earned over 42K in dividends and income. I would be grateful if someone can clarify this as I know other colleagues have been able to claim ER.
