New "IR35-like" intermediaries questions ?
by mikew at 12:16 16/07/15 (Ask-Legal-Accounting)
Contract agencies have started sending out requests for information about the contract workers, prompted by the HMRC "Record keeping and reporting requirements for intermediaries"
The main HMRC info is here:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/employment-intermediaries-reporting-requirements/what-this-means-for-an-intermediary

The agencies are asking for names and other details of their workers for submission to HMRC:
"The Income Tax Earnings & Pensions Act 2003 (ITETPA) requires the reporting of any non-PAYE payments made by an Intermediary in order for HMRC to detect false self-employment and abuse of offshore working by temporary staff."

So what is the best response to these demands for questionnaire forms - it's clearly undermining the B2B nature of the contract work ...

Looks like another bite at the IR35 cherry !!
