Travel and Subsistence

Hi, If I claim travel expenses for daily travel to/from a 'temporary workplace' (i.e. less than 24 months) then does that mean I am also entitled to claim daily subsistence, as per HMRC scale rates?

As is usual with all this stuff, I get different answers depending on who I ask. Some of my contractor colleagues claim subsistence on the advice of their accountants, and some do not. My accountant has advised against it. Hence this question. Thanks in advance for any advice. -- jajae Tweet
