IR35 Employers National Insurance
by jezlister at 08:24 24/03/17 (Ask-Legal-Accounting)
Who Pays or Employers NI under IR35?
Hello, I am like many other public sector consultants waiting to hear if caught by IR35 or not.

My agency has told me that if I am caught by IR35 I must use an Umbrella services. They have also told me that despite being taxed as an 'Employee; I will also have to pay the Employer's National Insurance.

First, I don't wish to use an Umbrella services as I already have a Limited Company.

Secondly, given the embarrassing U-Turn the Government did over Self-Employed paying 9% NI , how come I have to pay both employees and employers NI which could be as much as 27%. Where is all the outcry about this?

I would be more than happy to work as Self Employed but this is not an option.
