Professional Indemnity Insurance
by steelej at 11:22 21/03/18 (Ask-Legal-Accounting)
I finished my final contract in December and am now intending to close my limited company at the end of April. I have decided that it is time to retire (age almost 75)!

I have been contracting (part time - 2 days a week) for about 4 years and have professional indemnity insurance in my company's name. My contracts for the past 4 years have been via my own company to supply professional services via an agency (well three agencies in all) but all for for same project for a large IT company. This company has a contract to provide and run a system for a government department. Prior to becoming a contractor I had been working as an employee for this company (including working on this project) for around 8 years

My role as a contractor has been as the Network Architect advising on system and network security.

Would I be able to safely terminate my Professional Indemnity insurance at the same time as the company is closed?
