Off Payrol...
by jamieford at 11:23 23/12/19 (Ask-Legal-Accounting)
Hi,

Who knows what will happen in April, but given many clients are offering "inside" and "outside" contracts and some are already blanket banning contractors, I have a few questions (my next 12m contract ins currently outside but will be reviewed):

If the contract is inside IR35:

1. Is it still possible/worthwhile for my wife and I to claim a salary (I assume not dividends)
2. How would VAT work? Would we pay VAT on taxed income?!
3. I assume "inside IR35" income is a valid expense and so offset our CT
4. One client is offering and hourly rate, plus holiday rate, plus employer NI plus apprentice levy which ends up with a "LTD Rate" What does this actually mean and are we taxed on this as PAYE? .. or?
