...why couldn't he command a regular starting place with the Champions?
I'll give him his due - he's scored some great goals while he was with us. He even banged in couple against Manchester United to help us win the league (but not quite as good as Gerrard's brilliant back pass to Drogba in the recent Liverpool v. Chelsea encounter!)
Mourhino, Grant, Hiddink, Ancelotti and Capello all had doubts about him. Mourhino used to rant publicly about Joe's work rate.
He's a good player, but he's not up there with Lampard, Terry, and Gerrard - not quite.
If he signed for the money - good for him! How often do people change their jobs for more money?
The best I can say about Joe's injury record is that Liverpool are already paying a lotta people a lotta money to sit in the treatment room - surely you don't need another one?
