Newsletter 409: IR35 Forum meeting | Landmark decision on agency workers
by Newsletter Editor at 10:15 21/02/13 ( Shout99 Newsletter)
It has been six months since the representatives of the freelancing sector gathered around the table for a meeting of the IR35 Forum, so there should have been plenty to discuss, given the developments since then.
Not surprisingly the issues of office holders, freelancers in the public sector and HMRC’s new compliance activities were on the agenda.

However, the minutes have more of a ’work in progress’ feel to them, than list of achievements or action already undertaken. There were some concrete points to report though, namely that the new compliance activities of HMRC are on target to hit target; and that all IR35 guidance is currently under review, but it was stressed that this is a refresh rather than a rewrite.

IR35 Forum: More compliance activity and more work in progress

This, and more stories of interest to freelancers, are available from the links below to Shout99.
