Post A-level students urged to start their own business
by Susie Hughes at 09:15 15/08/14 (News on Business)
As teenage dreams were realised and broken this week with the publication of the A-level results, one national business organisation is urging post A-level students to consider the option of starting their own business.
Phil Orford MBE, chief executive of the Forum of Private Business, said: “The Forum congratulates all pupils receiving their A level results this week and urges them consider the option of starting a business.

“The tough youth and graduate job markets have inspired many young people to create their own opportunities by going it alone. There are many sources of support to help would-be entrepreneurs get their idea off the ground, from the very successful Start Up Loans, to many local business support organisations.

“I would say to any students now heading to university to join an enterprise society there. To all those not going to university, there are many excellent apprenticeship schemes to go into but if you want the freedom and excitement of business then consider taking forward your ideas and becoming self employed.”
