Umbrellas and agencies faced similar problems and responded with the same plea - don't tar all of us with the same brush.

Labour leader, Ed Milliband, took a side-swipe at rogue agencies and warned them that the next Labour Government would crack down on the shoddy practises. A couple of days later, it was the turn of the unions to smear those umbrellas which exploited workers, particuarly in the construction sector. Meanwhile, agencies and umbrellas who operate 'by the book' were left fearing that they might all be bundled up in the same plans to target the 'cowboys'.
