I have been working for a client (call them A), via a recruitment agency for about 6 months. They have extended my contract, but because they have no work for me, they have sent me to work for one of their clients (call them B) as a consultant. So my orginal client still signs timesheets, and I submit my invoices to the agency as usual. So for me, nothing has changed. However, the original client is now making a very good markup on my rate, for doing no more than signing a timehseet once a week.
My question is this. I realise I could not, in general, say goodbye to the agency and work directly for the original client. But, is there anything stopping me dropping the original client as yet another middle-man?
For instance, if client B was happy to take me on directly (possibly via the same agency), would client A have grounds for complaint (legally, that is)?
