At present I am a contractor and it looks like I and others might be asked to become staff with the same company, i.e. moving from doing the work as a consultant to doing it as a staff position with different T&C'S and no doubt pay level. As IR35 was to do with IT contractors going from staff on a Friday to consultant on the Monday with the same company does it work the other way round? Does becoming staff in the same position leave you open to saying you are caught by IR35 for the time you were a consultant, i.e. it should always have been a staff position?
