The liquidators have asked me to submit accounts to the day before the company entered the MVL (i.e. 10 months to 29/10/15). I have produced the accounts (which wasn't hard as the total income received/expenses incurred was £600 bank interest and £1800 HMRC PAYE refund).
I tried to submit the final accounts via the HMRC/Companies House combined filing system and it won't let me unless my accounting reference date remains 31/12/15 (or a week either side of that date). When I rang HMRC about it I was told produce my accounts and send them to my tax office with a paper CT600. Unfortunately I cannot produce them via the Companies House website with a 29/10/15 end date without first applying for the accounting reference date of the company to be changed to 29/10/15. Should I do this, or should I submit them with a 31/12/15 accounting reference date and state within the accounts that the company entered a MVL on 30/10? Alternatively should I produce them in Word and submit hardcopies to HMRC / Companies House?
I do not have a company accountant to ask as I have produced the accounts myself up until now as the company has had a very simple P&L and Balance Sheet.
Thanks / regards
