Agency mark-up
by jajae at 11:50 21/03/16 (Ask-Legal-Accounting)
For long term contracts, with several contract renewals, is it reasonable for an agency to keep charging a 13% mark-up?
I am a Ltd Co contractor working for a client via a recruitment agency (and opted out).

I am about to sign up for another 6 months, having already been under contract for 18 months. This will be the second contract renewal (so three consecutive contracts in all so far).

It seems to me that a 13% mark-up is arguably reasonable for a period of time, and certainly for the duration of the original contract, but is it a reasonable mark-up if/when the arrangement becomes longer term and the agency is effectively just handing invoicing?

After all, if I am offered an extension, it is due to the quality of my work and nothing to do with the agency.

Or am I being unreasonable?
