Call for more clarity on Labour's small business proposals
by Susie Hughes at 13:56 07/06/17 (Political News)
The Forum of Private Business, representing nearly 20,000 privately owned small businesses, is requesting clarification from Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn on his proposals to support small businesses following his Leaders' Debate interview.
Chief Executive of the Forum, Ian Cass has issued the request commenting, “In his recent television appearance on Friday night when questioned by a member of the audience about the impact on Small Businesses of the Labour proposal for a £10 Minimum Wage, and the proposed increase in Corporation Tax, Mr Corbyn suggested that there would be some potential tax breaks and additional support for small businesses but did not expand on that point.

"The Forum has followed up on this and the suggestion from Labour sources seems to be that there are support measures in the Labour manifesto but Mr Corbyn has not articulated them.

"We have requested that we can be given more detail on the measures Labour intends to put in place that will help Small and Microbusiness as our membership will no doubt be delighted to hear about them in more detail, ideally in advance of the vote on Thursday.”
