Call for clarity about consultation on employment status checks
by Susie Hughes at 13:54 04/08/14 (News on Business)
Agency group, ASPCo, wants to ensure that the recently announced consultation on employment status checks is 'genuine' and will provide clarity for all parties.
While welcoming the exercise, it has expressed concern at how little information exists about how interested parties can become involved.

Samantha Hurley, Head of External Affairs at APSCo said: “APSCo welcomes the OTS’s decision to seek the views of contractors and other interested parties when compiling its review into the employment status checks which, it is hoped, will determine if existing checks result in ‘real uncertainty’ for segments of the UK workforce.

"To avoid confusion and unnecessary panic for members of the professional recruitment sector, however, we hope to see a genuine consultation on the matter which provides clarity for all stakeholders involved.

"As it currently stands there has been little information from the OTS on how ‘interested parties’ can contribute to the consultation which, we hope is rectified shortly to enable a genuine consultation. Once APSCo has more clarity on this issue, we will be very keen to be involved.”
