Some advice would be appreciated. Susie, I have had a quick scan at http://www.shout99.com/contractors/showarticle.pl?id=22282
.. and it looks promising. I have been paying a lot of money in rent for the past 10 years and I would like to buy. Can you or anyone else put me in touch with some practical examples of freelancers who have taken on a mortgage satisfactorily. It all seems a little too good to be true.
Thanks

An email from a contractor The Editor - 13:48 17/01/06
Hi, Thanks for the enquiry. Here's a copy of an email received just after Christmas from a contractor who used the mortgage service.

He wrote:
"I have been a contractor for many years and every time it came to a mortgage application (I have moved a LOT of times) it was a nightmare. The last thing you want when you are buying a home is uncertanty and delays but with an income that is difficult to prove you have to normally just accept this.

"This time it was totally different, by using the Shout99/Contractor Financials mortgage service.

"The whole process was so quick and easy with no worries about how my employment status would be interpreted. They took my day rate as a guide and so my true earnings were taken into consideration.

"They kept me informed of progress the instant there was any news and it felt like I was dealing with people who cared instead of a faceless company. The next time I move home I will definitely use this service again.

"Thank you for a fantastic service."

Shout99 and Coulson Pritchard offers freelancers a mortgage finder service through Contractor Financials. Loans can be easily secured at up to four times your annualised contract rate and be based on little or no deposit. Freelancers need only be a fortnight into their first contract to qualify for these terms. No proof of income loans are also available. An additional benefit is that Shout99 clients will be charged none of the broker fees normally associated with using a mortgage adviser.
