Apologies for the further downtime
by Simon Banton at 23:23 06/05/10 (The Clubhouse)
There's nothing like catastrophic hardware failure to ruin your day.
A week ago we had a RAID disk blowout which caused filesystem corruption.

Having just about recovered from that, we discovered afterwards that the RAID was consistently failing to sync.

Further investigation revealed that the situation was irrecoverable and so we had to embark on a complete rebuild of the server from the OS up with entirely new disks on a separate RAID controller.

As a result it's taken the best part of two days to get back to a stable system again.

Sincere apologies for the extended downtime.
