Freelancers Outside IR35 (FO35) - update
by The Editor at 17:52 14/01/05 (News from Partners)
The new regulations from the Financial Service Authority which come into effect today (January 14) will not affect freelancers who seek to protect themselves against Revenue disputes by purchasing Freelancers Outside IR35.
The new regulations mean that only FSA authorised firms or their Appointed Representatives can sell most insurance products.

Qdos Consulting, who has worked with Shout99, to develop Freelancers Outside IR35, are fully FSA approved and will continue to sell the product to individuals.

This means that the individual remains the policy holder, rather than a 'group' purchase. The price also remains unchanged at £104.50 per year. Qdos will also take over the day-to-day administration.

Qdos will also continue to provide representation to those freelancers with FO35 who are involved in Revenue disputes. To date they have won all their FO35 cases without having to go to the Special or General Commissioners.

Qdos, based in Earl Shilton, Leicestershire, are specialists in taxation, VAT, employment law, health & safety and legal fees insurance, with a UK-wide network of associates and clients. They are also the UK's leading authority on IR35 having defended successfully more than 560 cases, including FO35 cases, resulting in a saving of over £12 million in tax for clients.
