Idealgovernment.com is holding an online brainstorm and will then present the findings to the new UK Government CIO Ian Watmore and the Government's efficiency review process boss John Oughton.
William Heath who is co-ordinating the consultation said: "I'm conscious there's a degree of frustration about public services and that we're spending some £13bn this year on public sector IT.
"It strikes me as important that we rehearse what we want from e-government. It's good to say "wouldn't it be better if...." It feels much better than griping, which we're all prone to doing, or pointing out the many reasouns that nothing will ever change.
"That's why we're having this online brainstorm at www.idealgovernment.com. Anyone is free to chip in - just comment, or email me for an author password.
"We're trying to work out as many angles as possible on what e-enabled public services should look like from the user point of view if we're to trust them, feel confident in them, use them, and save money. I'll give a progress report to the new government CIO Ian Watmore next week, and see where we take it from there."
