According to publictechnology.net, the initial database contains detailed profiles on 3,500 high potential small firms, with data supplied by Gibson Index, a research house based in central London.
The company has developed a large databank of SME information from which bespoke databases will be researched and created.
Other state-funded agencies - including RDAs, a group of Universities and the MoD’s specialist SME liaison agency, the Defence Diversification Agency (DDA) - are now examining the contents of the database with a view to building better relationships with SMEs.
